Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Haryana are reportedly engaged in efforts to appease former minister Anil Vij after he was said to be “seething again” over recent political developments. Vij, a prominent figure in the state’s politics, has a history of expressing his displeasure publicly, often leading to internal party friction. His latest bout of dissatisfaction comes as a cabinet expansion appears to be on the horizon, raising questions about his potential role and influence within the state government.

The current situation is not unfamiliar to the veteran leader. In the past, Vij has openly voiced his frustrations with the party and government leadership, particularly after the BJP replaced Manohar Lal Khattar with Nayab Singh Saini as Chief Minister. At that time, Vij was reportedly upset about not being included in the loop and later did not find a place in the new cabinet, leading him to skip the swearing-in ceremony. The senior BJP MLA, who has won his assembly seat multiple times, has often staked a claim to the chief minister’s post, citing his seniority and public support.

Vij’s recent discontent is believed to stem from similar concerns over being sidelined. In the past, he has received a show-cause notice from the party for making critical public statements against the state leadership, including Chief Minister Saini and the state party president. He has also previously alleged that officials and party workers worked against him during elections, demanding that action be taken against them.

BJP leaders are now working to placate Vij, seeking to prevent a further escalation of the internal conflict. These efforts are likely aimed at ensuring party unity, especially with an eye on maintaining stability and a cohesive front in Haryana politics. The party’s high command has, in the past, also stepped in to address the issues raised by Vij.
