UP Couple Arrested for Torturing, Killing Man Who Asked Them to Repay ₹7 Lakh Loan

A man was allegedly tortured and killed by a couple in Sambhal district after he demanded repayment of a ₹7 lakh loan. The accused, identified as Raees Ahmed and his wife Sitara, were arrested by the police following the discovery of the victim’s injuries and subsequent death.

The victim, Anish, had reportedly gone to the couple’s house to ask for the money he had loaned them. According to his family, he was brutally assaulted using screwdrivers and pliers. His father claimed that the accused broke Anish’s hands and legs and stripped him during the attack.

Anish managed to escape the house and return home, but he later succumbed to his injuries. Police said the murder appeared premeditated and rooted in both financial and personal motives.

During interrogation, the police learned that Sitara had an extramarital relationship with Anish, which may have further fueled the assault. Investigators suspect the couple called him to their house under the guise of returning the loan money, only to carry out the brutal assault.

A case of murder has been registered, and the couple remains in custody. Authorities are continuing to investigate the full circumstances surrounding the crime.
