NIBE Secures Key Order from Elbit Systems for Guided Rocket Parts

NIBE Limited, an Indian private defense manufacturing company, has received a significant purchase order valued at approximately ₹6.12 crores (around $700,000) from Israeli defense major Elbit Systems Land Ltd. The order is for the manufacturing and supply of components for the Guided Advanced Tactical Rocket (GATR) 70mm, a precision strike weapon with a range of 10 kilometers. This new contract, which is scheduled for completion by September 2026, reinforces NIBE’s growing role in the international defense technology ecosystem.

The GATR 70mm is a cutting-edge air-to-ground munition that uses a semi-active laser guidance system to achieve high accuracy against both stationary and moving targets. Its precision and extended range capabilities make it a critical asset in modern military operations. The rocket is compatible with a variety of platforms, including attack helicopters like the AH-64 Apache and India’s own HAL Rudra.

This collaboration is a milestone for India’s defense sector, as it marks the first time such a sophisticated rocket system will be produced on Indian soil.
