Five-Year-Old Girl Killed in Noida as Speeding BMW Rams Scooter

A tragic accident in Noida claimed the life of a five-year-old girl after a high-speed BMW allegedly rammed into the scooter she was riding with her father and uncle. The incident occurred late Friday night near Gate 3 of the Child PGI Hospital in Sector 30.

The victim, identified as Ayaat, was being taken to the hospital by her father, Gul Mohammad, and uncle, Raja. The family had already visited the hospital, and the accident happened while they were returning home. According to police, the speeding BMW hit the rear of their scooter, throwing all three onto the road. Ayaat succumbed to her injuries on the spot, while her father and uncle sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment.

Following the incident, the local police launched an investigation and managed to trace the vehicle using its registration number. Two 22-year-old men, identified as Yash Sharma from Sector 37 and Abhishek Rawat from Sector 70, were arrested. Authorities confirmed that Yash Sharma was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. The police have also impounded the car for forensic examination.

Charges under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including rash and negligent driving causing death, have been filed. Investigators are also exploring whether the accused were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

The incident has sparked outrage in the local community, where residents are calling for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations, particularly in high-risk areas near hospitals and schools. Families and activists have also urged the government to take stronger action against reckless driving and ensure pedestrian and commuter safety.

Local authorities have assured that the case is being taken seriously and that swift justice will be delivered. Increased traffic surveillance and patrols have been promised in the vicinity of critical infrastructure points in Noida.
