FIFA, in partnership with the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and the Telangana state government, has inaugurated its first Girls’ Talent Academy in India. The new facility in Hyderabad aims to nurture young female footballers and enhance the long-term development of women’s football in the country.

The academy will serve as a national hub for identifying promising players and providing them with structured training, professional coaching, and access to modern football infrastructure. It marks a significant milestone in FIFA’s global strategy to strengthen women’s football by creating sustainable and inclusive development pathways.

The collaboration brings together FIFA’s international expertise, AIFF’s national framework, and Telangana’s logistical and financial support. Through this alliance, the academy is expected to set new benchmarks for grassroots and youth-level training programs, tailored specifically for girls.

According to AIFF officials, the program emphasizes early talent identification and holistic player development. In addition to technical and tactical coaching, the curriculum includes modules on physical fitness, nutrition, mental conditioning, and academic education, ensuring a balanced approach for young athletes.

State government officials noted that Hyderabad was chosen for its sporting culture and readiness to host elite sports infrastructure. Scouting activities are planned to extend across different regions of India, ensuring that the academy reaches talent from diverse socioeconomic and geographical backgrounds.

The initiative arrives at a time when women’s football in India is gaining momentum, with growing participation and increased visibility at domestic and international levels. The academy is expected to function as a pipeline for developing players who could represent India in major tournaments, including AFC competitions and future FIFA events.

The FIFA Girls’ Talent Academy in Hyderabad reflects a shared commitment by all stakeholders to bridge existing gaps in women’s football infrastructure, opportunity, and exposure. With its comprehensive training model and strategic backing, the academy stands poised to become a cornerstone for the future of women’s football in India.
