CCTV Captures Fatal Hospital Shooting of Gangster Chandan Mishra in Patna

In a shocking incident caught on camera, five armed men entered Paras Hospital in Patna on the morning of July 11, shot dead alleged gangster Chandan Mishra, also known as Chandan Singh, while he was admitted under medical parole. The hospital’s CCTV system recorded the entire attack and is now central to the ongoing police investigation.

According to surveillance footage, the attackers walked calmly through the hospital corridor before drawing pistols from under their shirts. They proceeded to Room 209, where Mishra was receiving treatment. The video shows the men cocking their weapons and entering the room in rapid succession.

Inside the room, the shooting took place within seconds. The video does not clearly show who fired or how many shots were discharged. One of the attackers briefly struggled as his pistol got caught in his shirt, but he managed to enter the room. Moments later, four of the men are seen running out, while the fifth — who was the first to enter — exits last, walking steadily and glancing toward a person who looked out from an adjacent room after the gunfire.

By Thursday evening, authorities had reportedly identified at least one of the suspects, according to a report by Hindustan Times. Some reports also suggested that one person had been arrested, although this has not been officially confirmed by law enforcement.

Police have not yet released the identities of the other suspects or provided additional details about the motive behind the shooting. Mishra was said to have been involved in multiple criminal cases and was out on medical parole at the time of the incident.

The incident has raised questions about security protocols in medical facilities, particularly when treating individuals with criminal backgrounds. Hospital staff and other patients were unharmed, but the attack has sparked concern among citizens about the boldness of organized crime in public areas. Authorities are continuing their investigation and reviewing CCTV footage as they search for the remaining suspects.
