Navi Mumbai Teacher Arrested for Obscene Video Call to Minor Student

A 35-year-old female teacher from Navi Mumbai has been arrested for allegedly making an obscene video call to a Class 10 male student via social media, according to the Koparkhairne police.

The incident came to light after the student informed his parents about the inappropriate interaction. His family then filed a complaint, prompting police to take swift action. The accused, a resident of the Ulwe area, was arrested and presented in court, where she was remanded to police custody for one day.

Authorities have registered a case under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Police are currently investigating whether there were similar incidents involving other students.

According to preliminary reports, the teacher had contacted the student through a social media platform and engaged in explicit conversation via video call. The student reportedly recorded the call and used it as evidence when informing his parents.

The incident has raised serious concerns about the safety of minors in online spaces and within educational settings. Law enforcement officials have urged parents and school administrators to remain vigilant, and to ensure children are aware of how to report inappropriate behavior.
