Pakistan Federal Minister and Chairman of the Parliamentary Kashmir Committee, Rana Qasim Noon, has called upon the international community to take urgent notice of what he described as India’s significant interference in Pakistan’s internal affairs, particularly in the province of Balochistan. Speaking at a press conference at the Multan Press Club on Wednesday, July 17, Minister Noon directly accused the Indian government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of orchestrating recent acts of terrorism targeting innocent civilians in Balochistan.

The minister’s strong remarks highlight escalating tensions concerning the ongoing security challenges in the resource-rich province. Noon asserted that the wave of violence in Balochistan is not an internal phenomenon but rather a calculated campaign of external aggression that demands an immediate cessation. He urged global powers to intervene and ensure the upholding of human rights, extending his plea beyond Balochistan to include the disputed territory of Kashmir and the Gaza Strip.

During his address, Minister Noon reiterated Pakistan’s long-standing position on the Kashmir issue, asserting that Kashmir remains an integral part of Pakistan. He emphasized that the dispute has transcended bilateral concerns to become an international human rights issue, requiring resolution in accordance with United Nations resolutions. He also paid tribute to prominent Kashmiri leaders, including Syed Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Yasin Malik, and the late Syed Ali Gilani, acknowledging their contributions to the cause.

The minister also touched upon the recent Pahalgam incident, where he claimed Pakistan had offered an impartial investigation. According to Noon, India opted for aggression instead of dialogue, a decision he characterized as a “strategic failure” for India, recognized both domestically and internationally. He commended Pakistan’s leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal General Asim Munir, and the armed forces, for their handling of that particular crisis.

Minister Noon affirmed the unity between Pakistan’s civilian and military leadership, stating they are diligently working to address public issues. While acknowledging the economic challenges posed by International Monetary Fund (IMF) conditions, he assured that efforts are underway to mitigate inflation. Regarding the development of South Punjab, he noted that poverty and underdevelopment are the region’s primary concerns, requiring focused policy attention. This latest public accusation underscores the deep-seated mistrust and ongoing geopolitical friction between India and Pakistan, with Balochistan remaining a sensitive point of contention.
