‘Salim Pistol’ Arrested in Nepal for Weapons Smuggling, Linked to Sidhu Moose Wala and Baba Siddiqui Murders

Security forces have apprehended India’s most notorious arms supplier, Sheikh Salim, popularly known as “Salim Pistol” in Nepal. He is accused of orchestrating the smuggling of sophisticated weapons into India, including Zigana pistols, and has connections to high-profile criminal cases such as the murders of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui.

According to investigative sources, Salim has been evading law enforcement since 2018. He is said to have facilitated the cross-border trafficking of advanced firearms from Pakistan, supplying them to gangsters and criminal networks across India.

Authorities revealed that Salim maintained deep ties with Pakistan’s intelligence agency and the notorious D Company underworld network. He is also believed to have served as a mentor to one of the suspects involved in the Sidhu Moose Wala assassination. His name had earlier surfaced in the Baba Siddiqui murder investigation as well.

Salim, who hails from Seelampur in Delhi, reportedly began his criminal career with vehicle thefts before escalating to armed robberies and large-scale arms trafficking. His arrest came after Indian security agencies acted swiftly on intelligence confirming his presence in Nepal, coordinating with local authorities to effect his capture.

The arrest represents a significant breakthrough in efforts to dismantle cross-border weapon networks fueling gangland crimes. Investigators are expected to seek Salim’s extradition to India, where he will likely face prosecution for weapons smuggling, conspiracy, and links to gang-related murders.
