Authorities in Noida are investigating an alleged case of corporal punishment that left an eight‑year‑old boy with a fractured shoulder. The incident reportedly took place at Kanshiram Primary School in Sadarpur, where the child’s teacher is accused of striking him with a stick during class.

According to initial reports, the boy did not disclose the injury to his family for several days out of fear of further repercussions. His condition only came to light when the pain became unbearable, prompting his family to seek medical attention. Doctors determined that the child had sustained a fracture requiring surgical intervention, and he is currently undergoing treatment at a pediatric hospital.

The Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) of Gautam Buddh Nagar district has been assigned to conduct a detailed examination of the school and investigate the circumstances of the incident. Officials have stated that the inquiry will focus on identifying any misconduct by the accused teacher, as well as assessing whether the school had appropriate safeguards in place to prevent such abuse.

Local police have confirmed that they are working in coordination with the education department to gather evidence, including witness statements from other students and staff. The accused teacher’s response to the allegations has not yet been made public, and authorities have not confirmed whether formal charges have been filed.

Parents in the area have expressed anger and concern over the case, calling for strict action against the teacher if found guilty. Several have demanded that CCTV cameras be installed in classrooms and that regular inspections be carried out to deter incidents of physical punishment.

Child rights activists have highlighted that corporal punishment in schools is prohibited under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009, and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015. Both laws provide for penalties against individuals who inflict physical or mental harm on children in educational settings.

In recent years, multiple incidents of alleged physical abuse in schools have prompted education authorities in Uttar Pradesh and other states to issue reminders to teachers about legal provisions and disciplinary consequences. However, activists argue that without stronger enforcement and better teacher training in non‑violent disciplinary methods, such cases will continue to occur.

The investigation in this case will determine whether the injury was caused by intentional assault, excessive discipline, or negligence. If the teacher is found responsible, disciplinary action could include suspension, termination, and criminal prosecution under child protection laws.

For now, the boy remains hospitalized, and his family has stated that their priority is his full recovery. The district education office has assured that it will complete its inquiry swiftly and take appropriate action to ensure accountability and prevent similar incidents in the future.
