The Haryana Board of School Education (BSEH), headquartered in Bhiwani, has implemented strict measures ahead of the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET), scheduled for July 30 and 31. As part of its security protocol, all schools designated as exam centres across the state will remain closed on both days. The move is expected to affect over 4 lakh candidates appearing at 673 centres statewide.

Dr. Munish Nagpal, Secretary of BSEH, outlined a multi-layered security strategy in a press briefing held in Chandigarh. The initiative includes biometric verification for all candidates, metal detector screening at entry points, and surveillance via AI-enabled CCTV systems to monitor and flag suspicious activity in real time. Command-and-control rooms have been established to oversee the examination process from centralised locations.

The HTET will be held in three phases: the Level‑3 Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) exam on July 30 from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm; the Level‑2 Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) exam on July 31 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm; and the Level‑1 Primary Teacher (PRT) exam on the same day from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm. July 31 coincides with Shaheed Udham Singh Martyrdom Day, which is already a declared public holiday in the state, easing logistical challenges.

Local law enforcement agencies are collaborating with 220 flying squads and full-time observers from both BSEH and the district administration to ensure compliance with exam regulations. In Panchkula district alone, Deputy Commissioner Monika Gupta confirmed arrangements for 9,622 candidates across 16 centres, including installation of CCTV cameras, deployment of signal jammers, and enforcement of provisions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

Strict disciplinary actions have been announced for any malpractice. Candidates, staff, or officials found violating protocols will face immediate suspension or legal consequences. “Any negligence, even among supervisory staff, will be taken seriously,” said Nagpal.

These actions reflect Haryana’s commitment to maintaining law and order while preserving the integrity of its public examination systems. By prioritising transparency, security, and accountability, the state aims to create a fair and disruption-free environment for aspiring teachers
