The 2025 JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship commenced at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, marking the start of its latest season of motorsport competition in India. The opening weekend featured multiple racing categories, including the Novice Cup and the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup, attracting participants from across the country.

Kari Motor Speedway, named after motorsport pioneer S. Karivardhan, provided the setting for the event. The circuit has long been a venue for both emerging and experienced racers, offering a technically challenging track layout. This year’s season opener brought together a diverse field of competitors, with riders and drivers representing cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai.

The Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup, a highlight of the championship, showcased races on identical Continental GT 650 motorcycles prepared to specific competition standards. This format ensures that rider skill remains the key deciding factor in performance, with all machines matched for specifications. The Novice Cup, meanwhile, served as a platform for young and upcoming drivers to gain competitive racing experience at a national level.

Throughout the weekend, spectators witnessed closely contested races. While final results from the opening round confirmed winners in each category, the championship points remain open, with more rounds ahead to determine the season’s leaders. Race officials ensured that all events were conducted under Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) regulations, with safety protocols in place for both participants and attendees.

Event organizers noted that this year’s JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship will continue across multiple venues in India. Following Coimbatore, the championship will move to the Madras International Circuit in Chennai, and later to the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. Each track offers different challenges, requiring racers to adapt their strategies to varying layouts and conditions.

The championship, now in its latest edition, has served as a key platform for nurturing motorsport talent in India, with past participants advancing to higher levels of competition domestically and internationally. By providing a structured competition framework and maintaining standardized technical regulations, the series aims to ensure fair racing and promote the growth of motorsport in the country.

With the first round complete, teams and riders are now preparing for the upcoming races, where consistent performance across all rounds will be essential to securing championship titles. The season’s progression is expected to bring further competition and showcase emerging talents in Indian motorsport
